With the release of ASE 3.x the licensing
and activation process has also been enhanced over that with v2.x. Below
is a brief summary of the changes. Further down on this page you will
find additional information in the form of answers to frequently asked
questions. For some common
purchase scenarios and step by step instructions, click here.
|
How it worked with
v2.x |
How it works with
v3.x |
- After purchase two emails
were sent: 2 from ShareIt and 1 from iTripoli
- This third email was
generated based on notification from ShareIt that a
purchase had been made. iTripoli would then create your
account and send an email advising you of your Customer ID number
(used to activate ASE
and to register for support). As a disconnected process
this sometimes resulted in delays.
- Purchasing additional
licenses in the future meant receiving additional customer
ID numbers which could become difficult to manage.
- Online activation could be
difficult from behind an Internet Proxy server
|
- After purchase an invoice
is generated which includes all the information you need in
one place: The Customer ID number, the License number and
your chosen password.
- Should you decide to
purchase additional licenses (or upgrades) you may do so
from the My Account page.
- Online activation makes
use of your IE proxy settings.

Looking for your
AdminScriptEditor.com UserID and password? They may not be the same as
your license information. See the Site FAQ
for details.
What is my
License ID?ASE 3.x
introduces the concept of a License ID. As a customer, you may have more
than one license which may now be managed separately if desired. The
License ID is what is used to activate ASE (along with your password).
Your license account is held at
SoftwareKey.com, if you do not remember your License ID you may click here
to obtain it.
What Is my
password?
Your license password is not
necessarily the same as the password you provided when creating your
AdminScriptEditor.com account (which is a separate account).
Your license account is held at
SoftwareKey.com, if you do not remember your password you may
to obtain/reset it.
Additionally, you may log in an edit
your password and other account details at SoftwareKey.com
by logging in
here.
What is my
Customer ID number in ASE v3.x?
Like before, your Customer ID is used
to register your AdminScriptEditor.com account for access to areas of
the site that are restricted to customers. However, once you upgrade
your license from v2.x to v3.x you will have a new Customer ID assigned.
Please also note that the Customer ID is no longer used for product
activation (that process uses a License ID and password).
Your Customer ID number is provided on
the invoice sent at time of purchase. If your account was migrated from
version 2.x, your customer number should have been automatically
associated with your account. Your customer ID is also located on the
My Account page.
What is my
Customer ID number in ASE v2.x?
If you have upgraded your license from
v2.x to v3.x you no longer need your old v2.x Customer ID. During this
process a new Customer ID is assigned to you which may be used to
register your online AdminScriptEditor.com account for access to
restricted support areas of the site.
